May 11, 2014, 8:18 PM · Where did the Suzuki CD go?
It's a question that my students and their parents seem to ask each other on a regular basis. Good news! As of last week, you can download all the recordings from Amazon! Since it's a pain to search for these on Amazon, I went to the trouble for you and have compiled this list of all the MP3 downloadable recordings available for the violin, viola, cello and bass Suzuki books.
With a roomful of Suzuki students!
You will notice there are a number of options available for violin. A word to the wise! Most teachers now use the Revised Editions, and the recording that corresponds to the Revised Editions is the newest one, the version by William Preucil. If you still are not sure which one to get, ask your teacher.

Suzuki Book 6 Violin Pdf
These are the scales I practiced as I worked my way through the first 4 Suzuki books. I've noticed most scale books tend to use eighth notes (quavers) and more difficult patterns, but I prefer to use quarter notes (crotchets) to really drive home the fact that I'm supposed to do scales slowly and methodically so I can listen closely to my intonation. I play these scales with my metronome set @ 60 bpm, making sure to keep a relaxed left hand and to use the full bow with each stroke. Sure, it's not super exciting stuff, but it really helped improve my playing! I'm uploading this because maybe it will help some of you too. I did my best to arrange the keys in the order they appear in the books: - Book 1: A Major (1 oct), D Major (1 oct), G Major (2 oct) - Book 2: A Major (2 oct), D Minor (1 oct), C Major (2 oct) - Book 3: G Minor (2 oct) - Book 4: A Minor (2oct), D Major (2oct), D Minor (2 oct), - Bonus: D & A Major Double Stop scales (1 oct), G Major 'Tonalization' arpeggio In the bonus section, I made sure to include the G Major 'Tonalization' arpeggio because it's a GREAT exercise for checking your intonation. That's because it consists of mainly 'ringy notes,' so it's easy to tell if your intonation is accurate or not. Red Desert Violin has a fantastic video explaining this exercise and what 'ringy notes' are: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y3xfyY8Qcek Here's some other links that you might find helpful: - Violin fingerboard chart: https://i.imgur.com/G0Tork0.gif - Circle of Fifths: https://i.imgur.com/oUmYRbF.png - Video explaining the Circle of Fifths: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_UxzDjU3-hM - Hand/wrist warm-up stretches: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7_0aVxFxBa0 - ProfessorV's video on keeping a 'quiet' left hand (essential viewing IMO): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=70Ilu1VDEf0 Note: In the 'C Major - 2 octave' section, you may have noticed the pattern was off in Measure 29. This is not an error - D simply cannot be reached in 1st position (unless you have a ridiculously long fourth finger), so I had to change it to an A instead. If you find any errors or have any suggestions, please leave a comment! I often worked on this score early in the morning or late at night, so there's a chance an error made it past my proofreading. *Edit: Someone has brought to my attention that the revised version of Book 2 has a piece in Bb Major (apparently another Perpetual Motion). I didn't know about this because I have the old versions of the Suzuki books. For now I'm gonna leave this score up as it is, especially since Perpetual Motion is basically an etude anyway. But if enough people request it, I'll add a Bb Major scale to the Book 2 section and reupload this score.
